ADR training

ADR driver training is specialist training equipping drivers with the skill and knowledge to transport hazardous goods by road.

All drivers carrying dangerous goods within the scope of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations require a Driver Training Certificate issued by the DVLA. The ADR Driver qualification and certificate can be obtained for either ‘Packaged Goods’ or for ‘Tanks’.

Hazardous Classes

  • ​Class 1 - Explosives (separate 1 day course)
  • Class 2 – Gases
  • Class 3 – Flammable liquids
  • Class 4 – Flammable solids
  • Class 5 – Oxidising substances & organic peroxides
  • Class 6 – Toxic & infectious substances
  • Class 8 – Corrosive substances
  • Class 9 – Miscellaneous substances​

Vehicle Mounted Offloading

The vehicle mounted fork-lift truck (aka Moffett) and the truck mounted crane (aka Hiab) are specialist equipment mounted to vehicles and used for offloading when accessibility is a challenge. They require specialist training so operators and others remain safe.

About Our ADR Course

The course lasts 4 days and the covers the hazardous classes of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9. The course is well presented and exams are taken after 3.5 days of training. The course covers the inherent danger of goods being carried and what action is to be taken in an emergency, plus driver duties under the legislation.

Explosive Training

We also offer hazardous class 1 training which allows drivers to carry explosives and this is run as a separate 1-day course.

JAUPT Approved Training Suite

Our training courses are available to anyone or any company who wishes to improve knowledge, skills and safety. It is the same course we use to train our own staff to become ADR qualified.

We regularly run courses at our own site, utilising our own training equipment and fully equipped training room. There are no prerequisites to being accepted on the course and once you have passed a licence lasts for 5 years. However after 4 years the licence holder can take a refresher course to renew their licence if desired.
